Comparison

Take a look at the overall composition of each student photo. Explain which photograph displays the strongest composition based on the terms that we discussed in class. If you were to pick your favorite between the two which would it be and why? If you were the artist, what would you do to improve either photo?
Photo II: For next Thursday
Childhood without Children: Capture your impression of "childhood" without having a child in your picture. Check out these images from the dp challenge website.
Sports Without Players: Creatively capture the notion of any sport without photographing the players themselves. Check out these images from the dp challenge website.

Next Week
AP Students-
Desolation/Lonely/Singled out--Don't forget that I have changed the due date for the Desolation/Lonely/Singled Out photo assignment to Monday of next week. (Contact Sheet must be turned in for this assignment)
Blog--You will also have a blog assignment due Monday critiquing your breadth up to this point. (more to come later)
Pop-Up-Photo--Your concept assignment for Wednesday is to create a photo that literally pops out off the surface of the page. You will print 3 or 4 copies of one previous image. (They should probably be glued to a poster board surface to make it stiffer.) Then select areas to cut out and "pop-up" using foam core. (see my example in class)
Beauty in the Ordinary--Next Friday, you will turn in your assignment of Beauty in the Ordinary. You are an artist, so look for things the average person wouldn't necessary see. (Contact Sheet must be turned in for this assignment)
